Boston-area Biomedical Informatics Training Program

CITL is a proud participant in the Boston-area Biomedical Informatics Training Program (BIRT). BIRT is a consortium of leading informatics laboratories at Harvard, Boston University and Tufts hospitals, and MIT and is supported by a grant from the National Library of Medicine.

BIRT Fellows are provided many opportunities for interaction and collaboration at Harvard and MIT. Fellowships are typically for a two-year periods.

The NLM fellowship at CITL is focused on applied research for the entire fellowship period. The fellow will actively participate in research projects with national importance. In addition, the fellow will be given opportunities to interview with nationally renowned informatics experts, present at national conferences, and lead CITL research efforts.

To learn more about this exciting program, please contact Ellen Rosenblatt, CITL Program Manager, at CITL Fellowship Program, or visit http://mi-boston.org for a general description of the BIRT program.

Executive Fellowship

The goal of the CITL Executive Fellowship program is to allow mid-level and senior clinicians, medical administrators, and others working to integrate IT and clinical practices an opportunity to visit Partners HealthCare System to participate with and observe the IT strategy, development, deployment, and evaluation processes at Partners firsthand.

CITL launched the program in November 2004. An article about the program was published by Modern Physician.
